Under the general supervision of the Radiology Director, the Radiology Manager is responsible for the supervision of all personnel in the Radiology Department to ensure staff competency in designated areas of responsibilities. Functions as a resource person for Lead Technologists and staff members providing necessary education, training, competency validation, and performance reviews of individual members of the radiology staff. Organizes, teaches and participates in departmental activities. In the absence of the Department Director, assumes responsibilities for the department, in consultation with the AVP of Nursing.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

 

Graduate of an accredited or registered school of Radiologic Technology.

 

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

Minimum 2 year’s experience in hospital radiology department. Advanced preparation in management/supervision or equivalent experience.

 

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

 

Current registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists). Certified by the Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT). Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required. Valid Drivers’ license and reliable transportation necessary as driving between campuses is required.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

 

Knowledge of Bureau of Radiation Controls regulations, staffing, policies and procedures and all modalities. Ability to supervise day to day operations of the department. Successful completion of department specific and/or hospital required training courses.
