Position Summary: The radiology patient access rep performs a wide variety of detail-oriented duties in the process of arriving and registering patients in the radiology dept. Location: 680 Centre Street, Brockton, MA Department: Radiology This is a full-time 40 hour/ week position. Alternating holidays and weekends. Responsibilities: + May be called upon to schedule patient appointments. + Uses independent judgment, ingenuity and is self-motivated. + Checks for payers’ prior-authorization requirements, validates active coverage. Manages incoming phone calls in a positive professional manner. + Schedules appointments for imaging and other procedures as assigned. BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE: + The duties require knowledge of procedures and policies related to the Radiology Department and functions as a team player. + Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and demonstrate the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands. + Must have excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers. Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other: + Education: Highschool Diploma or equivalent + Experience: 1 year experience in medical or customer service working environment, radiology experience preferred. + Certification/Licensure: N/A + Software/Hardware: Nextbar, Evicore and Meditech experience preferred. + Other: Medical Terminology
