Receiving Clerk Job Description Purpose & Scope: Under the supervision of the Manager of Distribution, the Receiving Clerk receives, puts away, and delivers to all business units within the hospital, all medical and non-medical supplies and goods that are delivered to either the warehouse or the Receiving Area of the hospital. She/He is responsible for maintenance of a clean and safe work environment and for observing all hospital and departmental policies on safe lifting. Drives the Hospital Delivery Van in accordance with all hospital policies, local, and state laws. Maintains a working knowledge of all applicable functions in Lawson and ScanReq. with the supervision of the Manager of Distribution, learns and maintains the appropriate skills to fulfill any technician duty within the department (mail room, in hospital receiving, warehouse receiving, supply cart processes, put away, stock rotation, equipment operation, ScanReq and Lawson use). Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience: Arithmetic skills are required. Ability to operate a pallet jack and to drive a panel truck are preferred.
