The Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency at UHealth is currently seeking a full time Recovery Coordinator 1 to work in Miami, FL. The Recovery Coordinator 1 (UM LAORA) assists in the recovery, packaging, preservation and transportation of cadaveric organs to be used in surgical transplants. The incumbent also helps to ensures organ recovery activities are in accordance with all applicable regulatory standards and operating procedures. Also, this employee provides preservation support for local, regional, and national recoveries

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Works with surgical staff in the clinical recovery, preservation, and transportation of tissues. Documents all recovery activities completely and accurately.

Assists with maintaining recovery instruments and equipment.

Provides training and continuing education to all recovery personnel.

Orders, stocks, receives, and rotates all durable and consumable supplies.

Works with other recovery agencies to ensure good working relationships and customer service. Ensures recovery was done in accordance with regulatory agencies’ policies.

Ensures compliance with all OSHA and HIPPA protocols.

Maintains logs on all equipment and schedules monthly cleaning of recovery suite(s).

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
