Full-Time benefited position scheduled 36 hours per week. 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Nurse Coordinator will be supporting the 6 North, Medical ICU and Medical PCU.

The Trinity Health Ann Arbor 6 North Unit is comprised of a 20-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and a 12-bed Medical Progressive Care Unit.

The MICU provides services to older adolescent, adult, and older adult cardiac patients, acute and chronic Heart Failure patients, as well as medical/surgical patients who require cardiac monitoring. Services are provided to critically ill adult patient. Patients in the unit require frequent and close assessment, skillful and timely clinical interventions and sophisticated technical support to achieve aggressive treatment goals. A majority of the patients within the unit have pulmonary diagnoses. Other common diagnoses are gastrointestinal bleeding, sepsis, neurologic events and diabetic ketoacidosis. The MPCU services patients with a variety of complex medical conditions, including DKA, sepsis, and pulmonary disease.

The Nurse Coordinator assumes delegated accountability from the Nurse Manager for operations, scheduling and staffing for a specified period. The Nurse Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in working with complex patients according to the unit's scope of practice and serves as a unit resource and leader. He/she demonstrates communication and conflict resolution skills for staff. Role model for Relationship Based Care. The Nurse Coordinator leads and facilitates day-to-day operational issues; is knowledgeable about unit budget and the volume adjusted staffing model; participates in patient care as needed; actively leads staff in implementing changes and new initiatives and coaches, supports and mentors unit colleagues.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

Current Michigan Nursing License

Graduation from accredited nursing program: BSN Required

Minimum of three years staff experience.

One-year related practice experience in clinical area.
