Registered Nurse (RN) Outpatient

Inova Health System is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) Outpatient to join our team in supporting Wound Care at THREE of our Healing Centers. This role is PRN, on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities: 

Performs essential duties necessary to clinic or non-acute operations to include taking vitals, stocking exam rooms, giving vaccines, blood draws, etc. Formulates plans of care based on trends of similar patients including patient education and discharge planning. Identifies variances from expected outcomes. Evaluates patient outcomes and makes revisions to plans of care. Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience. Actively advocates for patients' rights and identifies potential conflicts. Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care. Determines immediate priorities and offers solutions for problems. Works with the team to achieve maximum productivity. Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and families by modifying teaching strategies Participates in work groups and/or committees. Keeps informed of initiatives and incorporates the outcomes of team or committee work into practice. Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members while displaying leadership behaviors. Performs other duties as assigned.

Fisher Wound Healing Center - Mount Vernon: 2501 Parkers LaneAlexandria, VA 22306 Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 24 months of start date. Experience: 0 years of registered nurse clinical experience. 1 year of acute care is highly preferred. Licensure/Certifications: BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association; RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN
