This administrative position supports the Section of Emergency Medicine. The primary responsibilities are serving as the ACGME Residency Coordinator (for residents who rotate through the Emergency Department), administrative support to several physicians, reception of visitors and assisting with general academic coordination for the section.

 

Schedule: FT, Beneifts Eligible, M-F 8:00am-4:30pm

Location: Faculty Office Building (611 E Livingston Ave)

Responsibilities Serves as Graduate Medical Education (GME) Rotating Residency Coordinator for Emergency Medicine. Ensures compliance with established hospital and ACGME policies and procedures.Works collaboratively with the Education Department and attends monthly Residency/Fellowship Coordinator Meetings.As Resident Coordinator, first point of contact for residents and outside coordinators to ensure all objectives are being met. Works collaboratively with coordinators from outside residency programsManages the on-boarding of rotating residents, and ensures required documentation is present for residents. Completes the annual resident schedule, as well as assists with completion of the monthly ED schedule.Manages the resident evaluation process.Additionally, serves as back-up support to the Emergency Medicine Fellowship Coordinator.Schedules appointments and manages the academic calendars for several physicians.Responsible for ordering supplies within established budget.Prepares correspondence, documents, reports, and other materials which may be moderately complex and/or confidential, sometimes requiring independent judgment.Establishes and maintains appropriate departmental records, procedures, and documentation. Sorts, files and distributes documents and supplies as necessary.Works collaboratively and effectively with other departments and outside agencies.Coordinates multiple, simultaneous ongoing program demands (multi-tasks).Provides additional secretarial support to others within the section as requested/assigned. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate; business college coursework preferred.A minimum of 3-5 years secretarial or equivalent work-related experience required.Previous experience in a medical/academic office preferred.Must perform secretarial duties efficiently and accurately, demonstrating proficiency in the use of required computer applications.Must possess excellent organizational and time-management skills.Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Should have good understanding of medical terminology.
