RN Supervisor, Acute Care – GI

The Clinical Supervisor provides direct patient care and supervises the nursing operations of a unit. In the absence of the Manager or Director may assume 24-hour nursing responsibility. Works with a unit specific patient population.

 

We are a medical unit with a focus on the gastrointestinal system. Many of our patients present through the emergency department with a variety of interesting and complicated diagnosis. The team on GI Medicine get very familiar working alongside patients with non-specified abdominal pain, acute pancreatitis, crohns disease and GI Bleeds. We work closely with the GI Lab, prepping, sending and receiving patients in need of colonoscopies or endoscopies. Working on this unit you will have the opportunity to build professional relationships with patients who come back multiple times due to their diagnosis and disease processes. This is an exciting unit with lots to offer and great teamwork!

REQUIRED 1. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with one (1) year of nursing experience in area of specialty. 2. Associates Degree with three (3) years’ clinical experience OR Bachelor’s in Nursing with Two (2) years’ clinical experience. 3. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate clinical and supervisory decisions. Must possess good problem solving skills. 4. Demonstrated leadership capabilities. 5. Certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). 6. Other certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required based on department needs.
