Role

Arup has been involved in aviation development for over 50 years, working on a wide range of assignments at over 100 airports worldwide. Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and other team members and be up to date on emerging trends and technologies in the aviation field.

In project related assignments the candidate must have extensive knowledge and experience in airport planning and design, as well as be able to lead projects and teams. He/she must have analytical skills and a spatial approach to come up with effective solutions to the challenges that arise in airport planning processes.

The person will participate in tasks that will involve having:

Terminal Planning and Design Demand/capacity analysis Scheduling requirements Airport Master Planning Airport Due Diligence / Strategic Reviews

The individual will be involved in: 

Leading and participating in the development of terminal space plans and designs Performing demand/capacity analysis Development of terminal facilities requirements Managing and delivering tasks and projects Management and Training of junior staff Business Development in the field of Terminal Planning Client interface; represent Arup in internal and external meetings

Minimum requirements

Undergraduate level education in aviation related subject (graduate degree preferred). Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Architecture, Civil Engineering or university degrees of similar nature 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in airport planning; terminal planning and with knowledge of passenger terminal operations Demonstrable experience performing Program of Requirements (PoR) and terminal requirements calculations. Capacity-demand analysis through spreadsheets or static simulations Excellent understanding of IATA-ADRM, ICAO, EASA standards and recommended practices including experience in their interpretation is required Experience in task, people and project management Strong and proven track record of delivering solid, high quality work Experienced user of Microsoft Office packages Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken) Experience using CAD, being able to work independently and other design tools such as illustrator, sketch up, 3D Excellent communication/presentation skills Ability to contribute positively in a team environment High level of initiative, drive and integrity Good organizational skills Ability to consistently meet deadlines Attention to detail Ability to work independently Ability to solve problems in teams Confidence to communicate effectively with a wide range of people Ability to listen and share ideas

Assessable requirements

Experience in terminal/airfield simulation modeling (e.g., CAST Terminal, CAST Aircraft, Airtop) Knowledge of GIS and/or other graphical software Knowledge of other languages preferably from countries in Europe
