The Senior Cloud Data Engineer’s role encompasses diverse on-premise and cloud-based data engineering and integration responsibilities. This includes designing, migrating, developing, implementing, and operating cloud-based data solutions that align seamlessly with the company’s data strategy and vision. Key responsibilities also involve leading data engineering projects implementation, optimizing and troubleshooting data pipelines and migration of data workloads to Azure cloud. In addition, the Senior Cloud Data Engineer serves as a subject matter expert in Azure cloud data technologies, actively shaping our data engineering processes and plays a pivotal role ensuring the success of our data engineering initiatives.

 

 

What We Offer:

Salary range is $130,000-$140,000/year depending on experience.

Responsibilities Lead data engineering and operation projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and according to best practices. Implement, execute, and collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions.Demonstrate expertise in cloud technologies, particularly in Azure (ADF, ADLS, Synapse, VM, SQL Server, Eventhub, etc.)Provides expertise, guidance, and mentoring to other database developers/engineers across teams and across projects, as needed, in order promote development of internal skill, talent and experience on new technologies.Understands business processes and considers the business process impact (including production support) when designing database and integration technology solutions.Viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across teams.Acts as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent for various projects and teams.Provide mentorship and technical leadership to data engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.Optimize data processing and storage for performance and cost-effectiveness, leveraging cloud-native services and technologies.Works closely with IT Security to respond to and address security concerns. Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelinesOther duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience with demonstrated ability requiredMinimum eight (8) years of experience with engineering and administration of cloud and on-premises infrastructure technologies, including (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS), with demonstrated proficiency across multiple current technology disciplines required.Azure Certifications Preferred: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator, Azure Network Engineer, or equivalentWorking knowledge of ITIL disciplines preferredWorking knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, FERPA, GLBA, PCI, etc.) as they relate to data integrity and privacy preferred
