Senior Construction Manager

Ameresco currently has a new opportunity for a Senior Construction Manager to join our Smart Building Solutions Team for the project execution of new Ameresco Energy and Sustainability projects located throughout the Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana, and Tennessee. Our division has 4 critical projects and this role will support 6 Project Managers in the field, with the direct report of this role to be the Vice President of Operations and Construction. This role will be located in one of our offices in Columbus or Worthington, OH. Responsibilities: + Provide input to the project manager during the design development phase with specific focus on construction logistics and planning, constructability, and required QA/QC. + Actively support the project teams with the direct procurement of major equipment and associated requirements of delivery schedule, off-site storage of equipment, off-site fabrication QA/QC, coordination of FATs, and negotiations procurement terms and conditions. + Manage the pre-qualifications of required installation contractors to ensure a competitive bidding phase that meets all site labor requirements. Foster and develop relations with exceptional nationwide contractors to expedite this process. + Coordinate with the project team to plan required site construction internal resources and to interview, hire and train for project execution. + Coordinate with the project team and provide management and oversight of on-site construction managers and all related construction activities. + Coordinate internal and external construction management resources for multiple projects to provide coverage during absences or change of employment. + Provide support to the project managers to maintain accurate construction schedules to facilitate the identification of upcoming critical tasks. Identify, develop and implement required project acceleration and schedule recovery strategies. + Provide management level coordination with equipment vendors, labor subcontractors and professional services subcontractors in support of on-time, on-budget performance within the specified work scope and quality. + Frequent travel to project sites to conduct regular site-visits to projects in construction to review progress, performance and provide direction to on-site construction management staff and major subcontractor management. + Support engineering and design development teams with project scoping, cost estimating and scheduling. + Assist in developing project specific construction contracting strategies, review of bid packages, subcontractor selection and contracting. + Oversee the preparation of regular construction progress reporting to internal company and external customer recipients. + Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, federal, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes. + Assists Project and Construction managers to troubleshoot and assure follow through to resolve reported quality issues. + Support project managers to resolve all vendor or subcontractor disputes, performance problems or schedule problems to ensure timely execution of the project. + Perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: + Minimum 12 years construction project management work experience focusing on complex facility infrastructure, industrial power, or distributed energy facility project delivery. + OSHA 10 Certification. + OSHA 30 Certification. Additional Qualifications: + Proven experience with OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes. + Experience managing multiple direct reports in construction management setting. + Construction management certifications or state licensing. Completion or progress toward engineering, technical, or industry-related education preferred. + Demonstrated work experience with medium voltage switchgear, industrial PLC controls, electric and absorption chillers, and gas compression and processing equipment is preferred. + Proven experience with OSHA 10 safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes. + Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships. + Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills. + Proficient computer skills with applications including MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and cloud-based construction management software such as Procore or equivalent. + Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by resident state. #LI-AG1 AMERESCO challenges the brightest, most talented and creative individuals in the industry by providing an environment that embraces initiative, diversity, and achievement along with comprehensive rewards, including people-oriented insurance, investment, and incentive plans.
