Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities:

Provides effective clinical assessment of the consumerUtilizes assessment data to support a DSM 5Formulates appropriate treatment plan along with consumer and family/guardian, as indicatedProvides individual, group, family and play therapy mode, utilizing basic therapeutic models and theories according to consumer needs as stated in the treatment planProvides outreach services to consumers and their families according to their needsDemonstrates the ability to recognize the elements of a crisis state and knows how to deescalate or resolve the situationEffectively collaborates with the treatment team members and outside sources in the delivery of clinical servicesEvaluates the consumer for discharge planningAdheres to professional code of ethicsEffectively demonstrates the application of child, adolescent, and adult specific competencies

 

Supervision and Consultation:

Seeks clinical supervision and consultation as neededAccepts and employs suggestions for improvementActively works to enhance clinical skillsWill supervise and collaborate for other social workers as indicated

 

Clinical Record Keeping:

Documents in a timely fashion per AltaPointe policyDocuments appropriate, complete, and clinically comprehensive mental health assessmentsDocuments measurable and specific goalsDocuments in a clear and concise manner, types of consumer problems, treatment goals addressed, services, and techniques usedDocuments case disposition, case closings, follow-up and referralsDocuments legibly

 

Case Load Management:

Effectively manages caseload based on consumer needsMeets AltaPointe productivity standardsStaffs cases with treatment team and supervisor routinely Qualifications

Master’s degree in a mental health discipline. LICSW in State of Alabama required (LICSW) 

Knowledge in child, adolescent, and adult specialties, outlined below, to be attained within six (6) months of employment:

Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in child, adolescent, and adult populationsKnowledge of growth and development as related to all intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects of consumersKnowledge of developmental disabilities and mental retardation in the child/adolescent populationKnowledge of principles of play therapyKnowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention and interventions common to acute psychotic consumers, as well as, to non-violent crisis intervention practicesKnowledge of family dynamic and parenting issuesKnowledge of effects and treatment of physical/sexual/emotional abuse and neglect issuesKnowledge of community resources as applied to the child/adolescentKnowledge of cultural diversityKnowledge of educational methods appropriate to child, adolescent, and adult populationsBasic knowledge of the nature of addiction for referral purposes.Basic knowledge of Senior Adult issues for referral purposesKnowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation principles
