Job Description

We are seeking a Software Engineer for a 3 month contract-to-hire in (downtown) Denver, CO.  This role will work with PHP and Adobe Commerce/Magento in a collaboartove open environment during normal business hours Monday- Friday (there are no remote options) and will be responsible for: 

Developing on-platform solutions and integrations to external systems, adhering to design standardsDevelop customizations and custom module development as requiredCollaborating with application architects to define standards and design solutions that meet client requirementsWorking with embedded testers to build and execute automated testing processes to ensure high-quality codeTranslating requirements into technical solutions and estimate the level of effort needed to implement themSupporting the delivery of developed implementations, conduct peer code reviews, and share best practicesOffering practical experience to enhance the team's skills in constructing scalable web applications with optimal memory management, performance, and scalabilityParticipating in elaboration sessions with clients to understand their vision and requirements, creating a functional design document (FDD)Producing detailed design documentation, unit test plans, and well-documented code artifacts to ensure clear communication and maintainabilityAttending stand-up meetings, report technical blockers, and attend sprint planning and retrospective meetings for efficient project managementEnsure cloud and on-prem implementation, deployment, and backup follows established standardsMentoring junior level engineers to encourage continuous learning and development.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or a comparable major, or a combination of education and experience

 

Experience: 

Minimum of 5 years of experience in PHP software application developmentPossess a solid understanding of object-oriented programming and computer science foundationsProficient in Adobe Commerce (Magento) 2Proficient in PHP-5, PHP-7, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, Prototype, XML, Web-Services/WCF, and Web API Restful servicesExperienced in integrating with 3rd party solutions like Shipping, Tax, and Address ScrubDemonstrate knowledge of modern, efficient web-based development and responsive design techniqueExperienced in full life-cycle development using the Agile/Scrum project approachKnowledgeable in version control systems and web developmentExperienced in team lead roles leading offshore development teamsExperienced in estimating and project planningPossess a strong foundation in Computer Science, with excellent competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software designExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detailExceptional analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrates personal responsibility and accountability in completing tasksAbility to work collaboratively with onshore and offshore development team membersExperienced in working on existing applications and designing and developing new products and solutionsKnowledgeable in Payment gateways such as First Data, Amazon Pay, PayPal, Roku, etc.

Additional Information

This 3- month contract to hire will be located onsite/in the office in Denver, CO (no remote options) and will offer a salary range of $140,000- $145,000 per year upon full time employment (with some flexibility based on experience) along with a comprehensive benefits package.
