Support the HUGO BOSS subgroup in the US, as well as the entity in Canada, with the preparation of the day-to-day accounting and analytical activities. The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the compliance with accounting guidelines within the assigned tasks and act as a business partner to improve the quality of the financial close. S/he has the managerial responsibility for the junior accountant.

Additionally, assistance of financial audits (e.g. year-end audits) and receivables reconciliation are part of the position.

\n\n

Accountants will work closely with other Finance teams (Accounts Payable & Treasury, Credit department and Tax department), Financial Analysis & Planning, Legal and Business departments. The position is based in New York City, New York.
\n 

 

What you can expect:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
\n•    Perform assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner to ensure our financial statements are of the highest quality.
\n•    Contribute to ensure the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end close based on internal as well headquarter (HQ) deadlines.
\n•    Able to train and mentor the junior accountant and staff accountant, hereunder reviewing workpapers and posted entries
\n•    Post all payroll and bonus related entries. Ensure completeness and accuracy of payroll and benefits.
\n•    Prepare quarterly report to Management for group medical expenses and the balance sheet position
\n•    Prepare and post Intercompany transactions, hereunder Intercompany reconciliation of.
\n•    Analytical tasks to ensure the accuracy of the balance sheet and profit and loss.
\n•    Travel expenses
\n•    Work closely with Tax department to review, post and reconcile tax related entries.
\n•    Support, review and ensure IFRS standard compliance for the entries for lease accounting and asset accounting 
\n•    Partner with FP&A team on the forecasting and budgeting process and perform the variance analysis on key accounts.
\n•    Participate in the annual audit and ensure timely delivery of the information/data requested by the auditors.
\n•    Assist to perform balance sheet reconciliations, including prepaid and provision accounts, etc.
\n•    Assist with yearly risk assessment and the ad hoc insurance related matters.
\n•    Prepare work papers for accounting entries accordingly.
\n•    Act as business partner and transfer accounting knowledge to other departments.
\n•    Review if assigned accounting topics are in line with accounting guidelines based on HQ procedures and IFRS updates.

\nAdditional Responsibilities:
\n•    Assist with system development and implementation projects to ensure all projects have the correct accounting entries. 
\n•    Collaborate with retail operations and IT to ensure correct mapping of accounting entries prior new store opening.
\n•    Performs other duties as required.
\n 

 

Your profile:

•    BS/BA in Finance or Accounting
\n•    5-6 years of professional accounting/finance experience required
\n•    First experience within the knowledge of IFRS accounting principles, practices, standards and regulations
\n•    Knowledge of SAP (R/3) a plus
\n•    Industry (Retail/WHS/eCommerce) is plus
\n•    Proficiency with Microsoft applications (particularly excel)  
\n•    Must be able to work independently and take initiative, hands-on 
\n•    Detail oriented and enthusiastic 
\n•    Strong verbal and communication skills
\n•    Ability to multitask and work under deadlines 
\n

\nThe expected base salary range for this position is from $80,000 - $90,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
