T-Mobile for Business’s (TFB) Strategy team works with executive leaders from across the company to build the business strategy for TFB. We’re looking for a creative problem solver with a solid foundation in fact-based analytical and strategic — someone that solves customer problems to drive innovation and growth! As a part of this team, the Sr. Portfolio Strategist is responsible for helping define and understand market landscapes and craft a comprehensive strategy for the TFB portfolio to enable rapid growth for T-Mobile for Business. This exciting role will be a key member of the team and will have significant authority and accountability. This person will develop analytic-driven recommendations to support business strategies vital to T-Mobile’s business.

Working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product and Partner organizations, this role will help determine where and how we should grow. As such, the Sr. Portfolio Strategist is expected to drive meaningful business impact and results, requiring competencies in customer focus, change and innovation, strategic thinking, as well as data research and presentation.

This is an individual contributor role but candidates with a strong strategy background, keen business expertise and technology understanding will find opportunities to grow into leadership positions.

What You’ll Do

•Take a leading role on projects, working closely with internal partners to understand key business issues, structure and perform complex analyses, and influence key decisions.

•Market sizing and analysis for use in identifying general areas of growth or specific product opportunities.

• Synthesize recommendations and understand their impact on the business.

• Construct executive-level presentations and present complex findings in a clear, concise, and visually compelling manner.

• Identify company and competitor trends impacting TFB and deliver insights to executives across the organization.

• Build financial and other decision-making models such as market share and case estimates.

• Assist in solution assessment to determine alignment with product portfolio and overall strategy.

• Provide input for sales training, collateral and campaigns as needed.

• Work with cross-functional teams to gain consensus and inspire change.

• Craft messaging tailored to specific audiences including summarizing past performance results and future growth initiatives.

• Support strategy project leads on ad-hoc team deliverables.

Who You Are

• Proactive problem solver who can break ambiguous problems into pieces using a hypothesis-driven approach.

• Analytical and data-driven, comfortable triangulating data to estimate market sizes and build financial models.

• Comfortable reading and understanding implications of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements.

• Intellectually curious, enjoys researching about new technologies and products.

• Effective communicator who knows how to bring structure and clarity to situations where direction is limited.

• Natural hustler with a contagious “can-do” attitude.

• Great teammate, adept at working as a team to overcome obstacles and gain alignment to achieve results.

• 7+ years in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or other related experience requiring quantitative analysis and executive presentation skills.

• Prior experience in B2B, Product Strategy, and/or Telecom preferred

• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferred

• At least 18 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

New York Pay Range: $173,000 - $234,000

Washington Pay Range: $168,700 - $228,200

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.  

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives. And since we are ALL owners, EVERY employee at T-Mobile is eligible for an Annual Stock Grant.
