Sr. Systems Reliability Engineer - AWS/Kubernetes/LAMP/CI/CD - (Remote position)

This role supports and provides security monitoring and auditing. The Systems Reliability Engineer will work directly with clients and technical teams to provide recommendations and assistance regarding systems engineering and development. This role also supports various projects as required. **Job Responsibilities:** + Troubleshoot MySQL (MariaDB) databases deployed with services like AWS RDS and Aurora. + Ensure software updates are correctly deployed. + Manage and use the Git version control system. + Assist with software development and integration as needed using Composer and PHP. + Troubleshoot source code, identify, and correct errors using systems debugging tools. + Ensure all systems have broad useful instrumentation in place and develop monitoring systems that provide actionable alerts based on those metrics. + Make use of DevOps tools, such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and Git to write tools that automate everything you are responsible for. + Build and maintain Kubernetes and cloud centric CI/CD pipeline. + Support full application lifecycle development by advising developers on how to provide stable and secure code. + Provide hands-on support to include: + Integrating WordPress with advanced tooling for front end and object caching, cloud object storage, database pooling, replication, and failover + Assist in resolving system issues escalated from the Customer Support team. + Assume one week per month of 24/7/365 tech-on-call responsibilities. **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree, 4+ years of military active duty, or 5+ years relevant experience in a technical or analytical field. + Superb written and oral communication skills. + Proficient in DevOps methodologies and how to build and operate reliable systems. + Intermediate knowledge of networking fundamentals. + JavaScript/Typescript, Bash, and PHP programming experience. + Knowledge of AWS including CDK/CloudFormation, EKS, CloudFront, WAF, and associated services. + AWS associate level certification, and Kubernetes developer (CKAD), or the ability to be certified within 6 months. + A deep understanding of HTTP performance and security. + General knowledge of Linux and Kubernetes administration and services. + Familiarity with the fundamentals of Agile project management. + Advanced working knowledge of the LAMP stack. + PHP/WordPress development experience, front end and backend including composer, wp cli, and a general understanding of the WordPress request lifecycle and extension points. **Desired Qualifications:** + Elasticsearch, Kibana and Logstash experience. + AWS Professional and/or Specialty (Database, Security, Advanced Networking, or Machine learning) certifications. + Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and/or Security Specialist (CKS). + Knowledge and certification of other cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure, or private platforms such as OpenShift.
