Job Description
Job Summary:
Under the immediate supervision of the Supervisor, Switchboard, coordinates hospital switchboard incoming and outgoing calls.
Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or its equivalent (GED) or a minimum of an 8th grade education plus two years of directly related experience in switchboard duties.
Job Knowledge & Skills:
Demonstrates well-developed use of the English language both verbal and written.Requires a basic understanding of a hospital communication system (switchboard and paging system) and need for efficient handling of each call.Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to consistently receive and greet internal and external telephone customers and respond to emergency situations in an effective, positive manner.
