Toolmaker’s are responsible for disassembly, assessment and assembly of Blow and Injection Molding tooling.

Essential Functions

Safely operate any machinery, tools or equipment used.Diagnose tooling issues/complicationsCommunicate all problems found to senior staffParticipate in tooling repairs as needed by senior staffKeep work areas neat and clean to maintain a safe work environment.Read blueprints & schematicsUse hand held tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, socket sets, etc.Use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometersPolish parts as requiredTake the lead on individual tool projects and preventative maintenance projects

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and use of PPE (ear plugs) is required.

Remain stationary for extended periods of timeMove around Tool RoomCommunicate with Tool Room Management and teamPosition self to ground level as needed to adjust machinery, or other lower level tasksMove, adjust, and position anywhere from 10 to 85 lbsManipulate small parts, tools, levers, and other small, hand-eye coordinated tasks.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

2+ years’ experience in Tool & Die or related fieldTechnical Certificate from Trade School5+ years’ experience in related field
