Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Training Specialist, International Disaster Relief Unit (IDRU) to join our team in Boone, NC! This role supports the coordination and facilitation of trainings for Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) and the Incident Management Team (IMT), designing preparedness and response tools, and assisting in international disaster response.  Come be a part of what the Lord is doing here at Samaritan's Purse!

A day in the life of a Training Specialist, International Disaster Relief Unit:

In the role of Training Specialist, International Disaster Relief Unit, you will have the opportunity to:

Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for HimAssist with the coordination and development of US-based, international, and affiliate-based trainings for the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART)Provide general training, leadership training, and sector specific training as neededMaintain training records for Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) members including online, in-person, and additional training developmentsAssist in the coordination and development of Incident Management Team trainings for Headquarters Staff and continuously reviews curriculum and contentSupport international disaster response efforts and provides leadership to programs and operations teams while on the fieldSupport the implementation of standard operating procedures for various Disaster Assistance Response Team support functionsAll other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university with concentration in disaster relief, international relations, or international development, preferred and one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceInternational field experience in humanitarian aid or development is preferred  Prior experience training and teaching adult learners strongly preferredGeneral knowledge in preparing and presentation training materials

Travel Expectations: potential for up to 15% travel annually; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
