Position summary: Design Engineer within our Highway and/or Traffic Division. You will be responsible for engineering designs utilizing the knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments to complete roadway and/or traffic engineering designs for roadway, bicycles and pedestrians.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of minor and major projects for ODOT and other municipalities Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects Perform design computations Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines utilizing MicroStation and Open Roads Develop construction cost estimates Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
