Trauma Registrar
Job Summary The Trauma Data Coordinator (Trauma Registrar) accurately interprets and abstracts clinical data from the medical record into the trauma registry database as defined by the Pennsylvania Trauma Outcome Study (PTOS) and National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) utilizing ICD-10 and AIS coding guidelines. They work independently to complete case abstraction within applicable time frame, and collaborate with other data coordinators on case assignment, submission, and to perform inter-rater reliability and validity checks on peer abstracted cases. Abstracted data is utilized for quality and research projects and to guide trauma injury prevention initiatives. Reports are run to prioritize work and as directed by program manager. The Trauma Data Coordinator stay informed of all relevant PTSF and NTDB updates and changes. They attend trauma related meetings and conferences as directed. There is potential to work remotely. #READ #LI-AH1 Qualifications Education Requirements 2 year/Associate Degree - OR - combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Associate Degree Experience Relevant Experience Certification and Licensure Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSTR) within 36 months of hire AAAM AIS (Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine - Abbreviated Injury Scale) certification within 1 year of hire Completion of certificate/degree in one or more of the following is preferred: Certified Trauma Registry Specialist (CTRS-through ACS) RHIT or RHIA (through AHIMA) Registered Nurse (RN) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) PA EMT Registration Other Allied Health profession Required Skills Excellent Communications Skills Excellent Interpersonal Skills General Clerical Skills Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word
