Inspectors are responsible for verifying weight, calculating the density and properly classifying shipments tendered by our customers. All inspections completed are validated by following the DFL Rules Tariff and the provisions of the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC). When discrepancies are found by the inspector, an updated entry with the accurate information is entered into the computer system and a certificate is assigned to recover the revenue that is due to DFL for the shipment.

Develop positive relationships and promote teamwork and morale with all employees.Practice safe work methods and encourage safety in daily operation.Perform job responsibilities in a NON-temperature controlled, loud and dusty environment.Reach, step, bend and maneuver to complete inspections inside of trailers and on the dock. Able to climb in and out of a trailer from ground level.Have the ability to walk & stand for long periods of time.Carry and/or pickup freight to perform inspection processProcess and review W&R reports to learn which accounts have opportunity for revenue recovery. Regular data entry and auditing required in daily duties.Conduct inspections of shipments (document actual commodity, take pictures, document dimensions)Cross reference Bill Of Lading to insure accurate information is designated by shipper.Enter correct data into the AS400 system so accurate class, weight and dimensions are documented for revenue recovery.Upload pictures onto computer and/or flash drive for future reference.Utilization of all current NMFC provisions including Rules & packaging.Perform other duties as required/requested Qualifications High school diploma or equivalentAble to work independently and as a team member.Ability to make decisions in a fast paced work environment.Knowledge of the LTL industry, and/or W&R, is preferred.
