Welder (New Production) **Location:** New Prague, MN, United States, 56071 **Company:** Chart Industries **_Ensuring Chart’s Success…_** Chart’s welders play a key role in the manufacturing process of Chart’s products. Candidates must be able to perform complex and critical welding operations and the position requires a full range of experience and training. Various types of metals are used during the production process and the following types of welding are performed: GMAW, GTAW, Sub-arc welding, Plasma-arc cutting and Air-arc gouging. Available Shifts: Days: Monday - Friday: 5:45am-2:15pm Nights: Monday - Thursday: 2:45pm-12:45am (Night shift is eligible for a $2.00 per hour shift differential) **_What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…_** + Perform welding and other related manufacturing activities with minimal instruction and supervision + Layout, assemble and weld according to drawings, work instructions, and weld procedures. + Ability to judge the type and gauge of steel to be welded, and make proper head adjustments as required by welding procedures. + Position welded metal parts on fixtures; attached jigs & clamps as needed to hold metal parts in proper position for welding. + Perform complete welding and finishing operations for unit repair. + Train and instruct other welders. + Use various handling devices in conjunction with welding tasks. + Accurately maintain required documentation. + Utilize visual examination. + Observe and practice safety procedures and policies, participate in safety program and department meetings. + Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors. **_Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…_** + Exposure to metal cutting, welding odors, welding flash and incidental acceptable limits of x-ray radiation. + Possible exposure to chemical odors and temperature extremes. + Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and occasional crawling. + Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. and occasionally heavier (50-60 lbs.) with assistance + Frequent pushing, pulling, and handling of materials as well as repetitive hand movements during welding. **_Your Professional Experience Should Be…_** + Ability to comprehend complex blueprints and weld symbols. + Previous experience performing GMAW, GTAW, and Sub-arc welding. + Experience with air-arc gouging and operation of plasma cutting machines. + Ability to accurately measure using devices such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers. + Successful ability to pass certification tests. **_Your Education Should Be…_** + Technical welding diploma or equivalent work experience. + Print reading course including welding symbols. **_Chart is an equal opportunity employer_**
