Qualitest is seeking a skilled and experienced Manual Tester to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our software applications. As a Senior Manual Tester, you will be responsible for conducting thorough testing, identifying defects, and ensuring that our software meets the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manual testing, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to quickly adapt to new applications and environments. Your work will be vital in ensuring that our software is reliable, efficient, and aligns with user expectations.

 

This is a 1-year contract position, offering remote work (preferred CST & EST time zones). The role is compensated at a rate of $50/hour.

 

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough manual testing of software applications to detect defects, inconsistencies, and areas requiring improvement. Develop and execute detailed test scripts based on User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and specifications provided by stakeholders. Identify, document, and report software defects, ensuring prompt re-testing once fixes are applied. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to drive communication and resolve issues effectively. Use SQL to query databases and validate test cases during testing. Perform regression testing to confirm that software changes do not disrupt existing functionality. Contributes to the creation and maintenance of test documentation, including test plans, scripts, and reports. Quickly ramp up on business applications to understand their functionality and context. Suggest improvements to testing processes and methodologies for efficiency and effectiveness. Test edge cases and provide comprehensive coverage beyond the acceptance criteria to uncover potential issues. Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to gain a clear understanding of User Stories and gather additional insights for testing. Proactively engage with stakeholders to ensure requirements are clear and test cases align with business objectives. Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement) to improve User Story quality and contribute to the overall development process. Be proficient in locating and managing test data, creating or modifying data as needed for testing.

Preferred to Haves:

3-5 years of experience as a Manual Tester or in a similar role. Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, processes, and best practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. Preferred Testing Tool: ADO (Jira is also acceptable)

Qualifications:

At least 5 years of experience as a Manual Tester or in a similar role. In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies, processes, and best practices. Solid problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
