Qualitest is seeking an experienced Automation Architect to lead automation initiatives within the Quality Engineering (QE) track. This role will leverage cutting-edge automation tools and techniques to drive quality engineering maturity. The successful candidate will utilize deep expertise in automation, quality assurance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic, high-impact solutions.
This is a remote full-time position with benefits, preferred working hours: PST, and occasional travel (approximately 25%).
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Automation Efforts: Manage and guide a diverse team of 12 members (onshore and offshore) to define, implement, and drive the automation strategy. Automation Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive automation strategy that aligns with broader quality engineering goals and business priorities. Data Analysis & Insights Generation: Use automation tools to analyze data, detect trends, and generate actionable insights to enhance process efficiencies and improvements. Support Roadmap Development: Contribute to the creation and refinement of the Quality Engineering roadmap, ensuring that automation goals are fully integrated with the overall business strategy. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment on progress, challenges, and roadmap recommendations. Lead workshops to facilitate decision-making and encourage innovation across teams.
Essential Requirements:
Automation Expertise: Extensive experience with automation technologies, tools, and frameworks in quality engineering. Proficiency in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium—required, Appium and Cypress—preferred), scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java), and orchestration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo). Quality Engineering & Process Improvement Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of quality engineering principles and best practices. Practical experience in Agile, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines. A strong understanding of modern software development lifecycles is essential. Consulting & Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey findings, roadmap recommendations, and implementation plans. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse teams, facilitate workshops, and influence decision-making processes.
