About the Position

This is a Manager level role where you will be principally responsible for several Procurement categories across Marketing and RD. As the role is agile in nature, based on project criticality, you may be expected to support other category initiatives as well.

General responsibilities will include supplier management, sourcing, market studies, engaging with business stakeholders and contract execution. Additionally you may be asked to support internal and external audits, to partake in special Procurement workstreams and projects for system implementations, new business integrations and charitable endeavors.

Examples of categories that may be allocated to you would be as follows: Media, Creative PR Agencies, Contract Sales Organizations, Call Centers, Market Research, Clinical Operations, Travel and Car Fleet.

You will work closely with other members of the local Japan Procurement team as well as colleagues from the Asia Pacific Regional Team and Global Procurement colleagues.

Required Core Skills

Project Management, Market Research, Negotiations, Supplier Management, Business Engagement, Contract Execution, knowledge of Japan-specific business customs (e.g. Subcontractor Act).

Required Technical Skills

Proficient to Advanced skills in MS Office programs. Heavier usage of Excel and Powerpoint expected. For Excel, at a minimum you will need to have familiarity with Pivot Table analysis, basic index matching / VLOOKUP capability and be able to work with large data sets.

Required Language Skills

Native Level Japanese proficiency (reading, writing and speaking as you will deal with suppliers both in writing and in meetings).

Business Level English proficiency (reading, writing and speaking as English will be needed for internal matters).

Required Qualifications

High School Graduation, with University Graduation (Undergraduate degree or equivalent) and Master's / PhD degrees being a plus.

5 years of work experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain.

Location Travel Requirements

This role will be based in the JNJ Tokyo Headquarters in Kudanshita, Tokyo.

The role will fall under the JNJ Flex Policy where employees are generally expected to commute to the office 3 days per week and may work remotely otherwise.

There will be limited travel domestically and internationally (on average a few times per year)
