We are seeking a talented individual to join our MMC Controllership Team. This role will be based in Tokyo, Japan. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Prepare, review, and approve moderately complex journal entries, consolidated statements, and client account reconciliations while analyzing and maintaining general ledger accounts.Research accounting policies or reporting issues and prepare position papers or policies on related subjects.Prepare financial statements and disclosures, ensuring reconciliation with appropriate supporting information.Analyze revenue and expense reports, coordinate accruals, and ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly closings.Review internal processes and procedures, providing recommendations for improvements and assisting in the implementation of process changes and projects.What you need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.Strong knowledge of local GAAP, US GAAP, and compliance with corporate policies and regulations (including SOX and SSAE16).Proficiency in financial analysis, including variance and trend analysis for key general ledger accounts.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings to senior management.What makes you stand out:
CPA or equivalent professional certification.Experience in leading process improvements and projects within an accounting function.Ability to mentor and provide guidance to less experienced accountants.Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Experience with financial reporting software and advanced Excel skills.
