Position Description:
Qualified candidate will support the Agency's Division of Information Systems Security Administration and Operations that provides Access Controls to Information Technology resources. These access controls are for internal and external users and organizations. Additionally, the Agency has to maintain and manage all requests for exception to existing security configurations and policies in the remote access, wide area network (WAN) access arenas. To that end, SSA has developed a variety of databases that house this information.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for administering these databases, as well as, creating the ASP Web pages that "front end" these databases. These Web pages will be used by internal and external entities. Candidate will work primarily on the customer site taking day-to-day technical direction from the customer and must be a team player with excellent customer liaison and communication expertise.
Skills Requirements:
**Required Skills (in priority order) :
Knowledge of SQL Server, VB.NET framework and ASP.NET - Web Development Focus
.NET Certification and/or SQL Server Certification
Knowledge of AJAX, JQuery, Javascript, and VSScript
Ability to write and manage SQL queries
Ability to create and maintain SQL databases
Ability to create Web-enabled forms in Visual Basic
Ability to produce ad-hoc and recurring reports
Knowledge of the concept of least privilege and the ability to apply that concept to web form design and databases and other workflows.
Ability to produce monthly reports on status and progress of current problem tickets and ad-hoc assignments,
Ability to provide quality documentation including work processes and products; contribute to peer reviews.
Ability to provide troubleshooting application and system performance issues.
Experience with 508 compliance
Desired Skills:
Security background, strongly preferred
Knowledge of Government contracting
Knowledge of SSA
Awareness of industry best practices related to web design and data base management.
Minimum experience and education: Candidates with a BS degree must have the minimum of 11 years or 132 months of work experience specific to the job description.
If a candidate has a Master’s degree, they still need a minimum of 11 years or132 months of work experience but only nine years or 108 months of experience specific to the job. The other work experience to meet the 132 months does not have to be IT related.
Work experience while in college can be counted toward the overall years.
