Description Our client, a trucking/logistics organization, is located across the continental US as well as Canada and is rapidly growing both in their fleet size and footprint with an emphasis on customer service, safety, and modernization. They have an internal IT department that is currently focused on modernizing a lot of existing homegrown systems and moving them into a new Data warehouse environment as well as implementing new systems for automation and better development. They are looking to expand their internal development team to assist in the process of modernizing and maintaining existing applications. Most business applications are homegrown. Team members will work on fixing these while primarily focusing on modernizing them as they move towards a cloud environment. This role will report to the IT Manager as well as the VP of IT and sit on a team totaling 6 developers. This role is highly collaborative with end users as well as other departments within or adjacent to IT. Candidates should be well versed in .Net full stack development as well as possess the interpersonal skills needed to relay info to and from business units and end users. This company has an open door environment and a mostly flat structure allowing for direct contact and collaboration with all managers within the IT department. They are an Agile shop and follow regular sprints and standups across the department. ***This is an on-site role located in Knoxville, TN.*** Top Skills Required: 1. Senior .Net development experience. Candidates should have proficient working knowledge in modern and legacy .Net languages such as C#, VB, ASP, etc. - Fullstack experience is required though the primary focus will be in .Net. Other required understandings are in JavaScript, primarily Angular or React. - API development experience is highly preferred. - Experience working in code review or testing environments. 2. Strong interpersonal skills when working with both end users and other development/IT team members. They rely on cross communication across departments to ensure systems are working correctly and to advise end users on those systems. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills in communicating key points to non-technical team members. - This role will be ~70-30% on the hands on technical side vs the communication side. Developers will need to be readily available for calls, emails, meetings with other teams outside of IT. - Very level and open door environment. Teams will work closely together with mgmt. and VP involvement as needed. Agile environment and highly collaborative on ideas, methods, etc. 3. Experience with DevOps and specifically Git is highly preferred. This role will be focused heavily in part in the expansion, maintenance, and adjust to legacy source code developed internally for end user, internal applications. These applications range from all aspects of the company. The split for new development and legacy development work will be roughly 60/40 before decreasing and focusing fully on newer developments. Additional Skills & Qualifications - Knowledge of the transportation/logistics industry is a plus. - MuleSoft experience is a plus. - Salesforce experience is a plus. - QA knowledge is a plus. - Azure experience is a plus. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
