As needed, you may train staff in the retrieval of records to facilitate requests from referring physicians or fellow sonographers. You will work cooperatively with the Medical Directors, Perinatologists, fellow Sonographers, and the administrative team to ensure high patient and referring physician satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: + At the direction of a qualified physician or advance practice provider (APP), performs independent diagnostic ultrasound examinations requiring independent judgment and initiative in the utilization of ultrasonic equipment for diagnostic ultrasound examinations on "high-risk obstetrical" patients. + Reviews patient history and physician's orders to perform prescribed study. + Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and attending to all age-related physical, spiritual, and psychosocial needs. + Evaluates the learning needs of the patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. + Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. + When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice. **Work Location:** Onsite- this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Denver, CO. **Why Join Us:** Community Practice Medicine, housed within the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado, is seeking trained medical professionals to join our growing team. A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. **Preferred Qualifications:** + 1-2 years of vascular ultrasound technician experience in outpatient "obstetrics". + Bilingual, Spanish-speaking. + Epic and Kronos experience. **Conditions of Employment:** + Fetal Echo Training within 12 months of hire. + Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS). + Registered as a Technologist (RT) and certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
