Summary

Extensively assists and supports  the Quality Engineers by providing production expertise to resolve Quality issues within the production operation. Monitors process, component and product quality problems, escalates to supervisor as required, and helps support the investigation. May provide functional guidance or demonstrate work methods to new employees

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Functions as PQT (Quality Specialist) primarily on A&D accounts Supports and verifies the identification and processing of internal non-conforming materials for proper disposition. Ensures that the implemented changes and corrective action to rectify non-conformance issues are respected in the manufacturing line. Actively participating in root cause analysis and solving problems. Performs First Article Assessment activities. Supports internal, industry and customer audits as required. Supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes. Supports TotalInspection, SourceInspection Participates in Purge process (Quarantine, Assessment, Inspection) Participates in RAPTOR audits Performs inspection on NPI Programs using IPC (including Space Addendum) knowledge Actively drives RFPY improvements on a specific portfolio of Customer products Participates in 8D problem solving Conducts and reports in process and product first layer assessment. Performs activities identified related to the Key process and product characteristics, gives feedback for improvements. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Ability to exercise good judgment in providing quality and functional guidance and ability to demonstrate work methods to new employee. Ability to effectively communicate with internal customers. Strong knowledge and understanding of quality and manufacturing standards. Strong knowledge of computer applications and the ability to perform tasks using Microsoft Word, Excel. Strong knowledge and understanding of shop floor control and quality management documentation systems such as Spectrum Pro, EtQ. Skills for evaluating, gathering data, diagnosing and solving problems encountered in the manufacturing.
