PURPOSE Assess current compliance levels against a set standard of practice that includes ABS Pharmacies’ policies and procedures, CMS guidelines, and specific state and federal regulations.  Identify potential risk, coach and  educate pharmacy  teams on proper operating procedures including but not limited to pharmacy policies and procedures, proper third party billing, and report the findings to the Pharmacy Compliance department.  Reduce pharmacy’s overall risk exposure from third party audits, and local, state, and federal governmental agencies such as CMS, DEA and state boards of pharmacy. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Accountable and Reports to: Director of Pharmacy Compliance PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: Conduct store visits/audits focused on proper third party billing, compliance to pharmacy policy and procedure and specific state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice.   Store visits will also include identifying non-compliant activities, coaching and directing teams on proper procedures, and reporting back to Compliance and Operations. Evaluators will complete an audit form, coach on the discrepancies identified and send audit score with details to Pharmacy Compliance and the Divisional Pharmacy Manager. Conduct store visits focused on potential pharmacy shrink issues.  Conduct store visits focused on issues identified by Pharmacy Compliance. SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB: Minimum of 3-5 years of full time experience or equivalent in the pharmacy as a certified pharmacy       technician or pharmacist Thorough knowledge of all pharmacy policies and procedures General working knowledge of specific state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice Complete knowledge of proper third party billing procedures  Knowledge of proper billing of Medicare Pt B Knowledge of proper pharmacy workflow, organization and operations of a compliant  pharmacy         department Ability to travel within and outside of market area with potential overnight stays Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written to multiple audiences(store teams,          Compliance, Operations, Store Director) Strong computer skills both within ARx/PDX, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office Ability to work independently with minimal supervision including having effective time management and organizational skills Ability to write and see things in close proximity (reading distance). Ability to observe, evaluate and give direction on the performance of pharmacy staff Ability to problem solve Ability to prioritize Ability to identify operational issues within the pharmacy as related to compliance and third party billing Must be able to work shifts varying in length and time, including nights, weekends, and holidays Visual requirements include clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with color vision, depth perception and field of vision. Ability to coach and educate others Ability to establish relationships quickly Ability to direct without having direct authority Ability to balance receiving direction from multiple authorities while maintaining positive relationships Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion WORKING CONDITIONS: The duties for this position are normally conducted in a store environment.  There is significant responsibility to maintain customer service levels and handle multiple priorities.  The position is occasionally exposed to dust, cleaning chemicals, and equipment movement hazards.  EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM JOB: Computer, printer, fax machine, pharmacy robotics, and copy machine  CONTACTS: Has contact with pharmacy staff, DPM, Director of Pharmacy Compliance, Store Director, Pharmacy Professional Services Department, Pharmacy Compliance, Pharmacy Education, Pharmacy Systems, Managed Care Department and external third party providers.
