1:1 Classroom Aide Job Details Job Location Lockport site - Lockport, NY Position Type Full Time, 12 Month Education Level High School Salary Range $18.15 - $27.23 Hourly Description Buffalo Hearing & Speech is looking for a 1:1 aide to work in a preschool special education classroom at our Lockport location. This position will work Monday - Friday, 7:45am - 2:45pm during the school year and also work a 6 week summer program in July & August. Enjoy paid school breaks, snow days, and the opportunity to positively impact a child's life! The 1:1 Aide is responsible in assisting a specific child with all personal and educational needs. This includes but is not limited to attending mandated therapies and assisting with the reinforcement of specific goals. 1:1 Aides are responsible forall classroom aide dutiesunless otherwise specified by your supervisor in addition to the duties below. Essential Functions: + Responsible for escorting child at arrival. + Attend to all personal needs (e.g. toileting, feeding, etc) + Work 1:1 with child, modeling and encouraging participation + Provide positive reinforcement and assist with behavior management + Attend all meetings related to child’s progress and provide input to the team + Follow policies and procedures related to behavior management (CPI) + Understands and implements the child's IEP and goals, as appropriate + Any other duty as requested by your supervisor Skills: + Ability to obtain and maintain CPI Certification + Good judgement + Computer Skills + Ability to work well with children and understand their needs + Ability to work well with others, including staff and families Minimum Degree Required:High School Diploma Minimum Experience Required:Experience working with children, or in a classroom setting and/or working with children/adults with developmental delays/disabilities Physical Requirements: + Physical actions may include, but are not limited to; lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, sprinting, crawling, and running. + Vision, speech, tactical and hearing senses adequate to perform job requirements. + Frequent sitting/ standing and when appropriate, floor sitting with pediatric patients.
