Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnered with a respected facility in Lancaster, MA, currently seeking a 1:1 Nurse (RN or LPN) to assist them on a full-time basis.

Details of the Position:

Location: Lancaster, MA Duration: 13 weeks to start, with the likelihood of extension Facility Type: Residential Facility Openings: Saturday-Sunday, 8 AM – 8 PM (including holidays) Pay: $55/hr for RN and $45/hr for LPN

Position Description:

Ensure that the practice’s diabetes care is delivered in a timely, professional manner while maintaining equity of access to a coordinated and seamless service. Identify patients’ diabetes care needs using a holistic approach and offer highly specialized advice in all aspects of complex diabetes management to all members of the multidisciplinary team. Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms. Work 1:1 with a 17-year-old male who has type 1 diabetes. Check blood sugar levels and administer insulin in the AM and PM. The student can sometimes become dysregulated, but additional staff will be nearby if this happens. All employees on-site are CPI trained. In between insulin administration, the role is fairly laid back.

Qualifications:

Current Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices. Minimum of one year of healthcare experience preferred. Experience administering insulin. TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable. Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
