Position Overview
The practice of the Physician Assistant provides for daily operations and maintenance of our surgical program. This position is essential to coordinating surgical services as part of an interdisciplinary team of caregivers. Responsibilities will include coordination of patient scheduling, comprehensive patient education, staff education, postoperative care, outcome management, physician outreach, and revenue integrity.

Maintains, directs, and evaluates the activities impacting the progress of the Orthopedic programMaintains expert knowledge of service specialty to include procedures, equipment, supplies, and surgeon preferenceEstablishes and maintains direct, collaborative working relationship with Specialty SurgeonsAssist Orthopedic surgeons in the OR as appropriate and credentialedFacilitates the flow of patient care servicesCoordinates the efficient flow of PHI Works cooperatively with nursing services and ancillary departments to provide orientation material for all staff new to the program in addition to providing continuing education to existing staffWorks closely with the Director of Surgical Services to identify critical issues and develop strategies to address themQualifications
