Position Summary

Assist Corps Officers with the Christmas Angel Tree Coordination.

Essential Functions

Assist the Corps Officer(s) in the smooth and effective running of the Christmas Angel Tree program and volunteers.

Coordinate Angel Tree Registration , collection and distribution.

Work with schools, businesses, churches, service clubs and individuals to solicit donated, toys, food and financial donations.

Coordinate drop-off of bins and collection of donations.

Will be required to help coordinate Toy sorting and organizing Toy warehouse area.

Leadership and people skills necessary to coordinate a variety of programs.

Organized and able to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously.

Maintain a valid California Driver’s License (preferred).

If chosen to drive, must successfully complete Decision Driving Safety Test before driving for The Salvation Army and annually recertify as required.

If chosen to drive, must meet certification by and participation in The Salvation Army’s Fleet Safety Program (Salvation Army Fleet Safety Policy dictates that an employee may not obtain more than two [2] moving violations or accidents within any 12-month period; see The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Policy).

Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.

Working Conditions

Access and produce information from a computer Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis Grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Perform any other duties as assigned by the corps office

Minimum Qualifications

At least 18 years old

If working in vicinity of children a criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.

Be neatly groomed.

Be friendly, respectful, honest, and punctual.

Minimum High School graduate or equivalent.

Must be able to read, write and communicate well in English.

Bilingual in English/Spanish, helpful.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Understand the mission and purpose of the Christmas Kettle Program. Able to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment. Must possess good relationship skills.
