Summary
The First line of Defense, Quality Assurance Partner will support the Operational Assurance Program and is responsible for ensuring Northern Trust’s services, processes, and systems meet predefined quality standards and regulatory requirements.
The Quality Assurance Partner will play a critical Risk Management role by preventing/minimizing impact of errors, mitigating risks, and ensuring quality service delivery.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Lead the development and execution of action plans aimed at reinforcing business processes and workflows, while also defining clear roles and responsibilities for creation, validation, tracking and closure of plans
Perform risk-based testing to assess business processes are meeting defined objectives
Monitor business risks associated with the first line of defense through metrics, reporting, data correlation, and control testing
Collaborate with risk management and business continuity / resiliency teams to align quality assurance initiatives with resilience strategies
Analyze issue and incident management reports to identify patterns and areas for improvement
Ensure risks and issues are documented, tracked, and reported in a timely manner
Lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements
Acts as a support for colleagues with less experience
Monitor and analyze impact of new Products and Organizational change
Skills/Experience:
Several years of related experience in Quality Assurance
Expert knowledge of quality management principles and frameworks
Strong understanding of risk management industry regulations and standards that impact quality assurance practices
Strong understanding of data analytics and related quality assurance tools, software and technology to monitor and improve quality
Ability to analyze data, processes, and systems to identify areas for improvement to solve complex quality related issues
Applies knowledge of key business drivers and the factors that maximize department performance
Thorough understanding and knowledge of resiliency regulations, jurisdictional requirements and guidelines for financial services organizations
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Experience of working in rapidly changing and ambiguous work environment
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve measurable results
Manages related teams, sets team priorities, and allocates resources to align with business objectives

Salary Range:
$114,700 - 194,900 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
