1st Shift Assistant Runner
Position SummaryThe Assistant Runner utilizes systematic approaches to pulling and staging ingredients for production. This includes properly consuming ingredients in accordance with FEFO processes and our QA food safety processes. This also requires accurate scanning and consumption of ingredients in AX. This position will also be required to decant using food safety best practices. The position may be required to work hours outside of the set shift times and willing to work overtime. The primary hours will be Monday through Thursday, 7am to 6pm. Candidate must be flexible and able to start at 4:15am when needed to cover absences. This position may also help cover other warehouse related positions, depending on the daily workload.Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited toResponsible for pulling ingredients from freezerVerify proper quantities, lot numbers and locations of ingredientsAssist in pulling ingredients or supplies from trucks and trailers when necessaryScan product in and out to proper locationReport any defects, damage, or discrepancies. Identify damaged, lost, or missing materials and notifies Lead/Supervisor immediatelyEnsure First Expired/First Out practices maintainedOperate forklift, scanners, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment if necessaryAssist with pulling P2’s & boxes as needed to Plate & Pack, or other production areas as neededMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areaAssist in cycle counting/auditing when necessaryWillingness to spend extended amount of time in freezers; organizing, pulling and putting away productsRequired Skills and ExperiencePrevious forklift and scanning experienceCandidate will obtain Mom's Meals forklift certification upon hireAbility to work safely and efficientlyInitiative and ability to work with little supervision – self directedGeneral understanding of inventory managementGood reading comprehension, basic math & reasoning skills, and basic data entry abilityGood time management and prioritization skillsGood communication and teamwork skillsDemonstrated commitment to safety and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)/food safety rulesDemonstrated behaviors consistent with our Core Values of Teamwork, Relentlessly Dependable, Appreciation & Respect, Innovation & Constant Improvement, and Nourishing Our CustomersMust be able to flex schedule 1-2 hours on either end of shift when neededAbility to facilitate processes and projects as neededPreferred Skills and Experience2 years' warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling experiencePrevious experience working in a manufacturing and/or food distribution industryUnderstanding of AX computer inventory system, scanners, and inventory systemsPhysical RequirementsRegularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and armsFrequently is required to stand, communicate, and listen.Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Ability to work in cold environments down to -10 degreesCompany Overview
