SummaryTo be directly involved in the facility and personnel in activities to meet daily production needs in a safe and efficient manner. To maintain high quality standards while staying within company guidelines and adhering to all local, state, and federal laws that pertains to the manufacturing of poultry feed. Schedule varies due to production needs but is generally 5am-3pm.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Able to serve in any position within the feed mill to provide support as needed and train new associates in receiving, panel, dispatch, feed scheduling and feed quality. Assists the Feed Mill Manager to ensure feed mill conforms to FDA, USDA, AMS and Perdue requirements including CGMPs, BMPs, PVPs and the principles of animal food hygiene and animal food safety. Keeps daily inventory records and report any discrepancies. Samples and analyzes feed and ingredients according to policy and as instructed. Performs production related functions and support facility safety requirements and functions. Must wear all required PPE as defined by the positions in the mill and abide by all safety policies. Minimum EducationHigh school or equivalent.
Experience Requirements2 or more years or experience in feed mill manufacturing. Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word and Outlook. Ability to perform basic math functions to create accurate reports and maintain inventory levels.
Experience PreferredExperience in maintenance or mechanical functions.
Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsPosition is exposed to environmental temperatures to include extreme cold, heat and humidity. Position works in a dusty and odorous environment associated with feed mill manufacturing. Must be able to navigate uneven terrain. Must be able to climb steps and ladders. Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs. Must wear all personal protective equipment as required by safety programs.
