This position reports to

Production Supervisor

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to operate process equipment or machinery to convert raw materials or semi-finished parts into components or finished parts for a final product at the right time and with the required quality. Each day, you will execute the assigned tasks according to agreed workflows and in accordance with ABB standard processes and safety guidelines and reports any non-compliance. You will also showcase your expertise by operating machines in accordance with the operating manual, work schedule, and/or production order instructions.You will be mainly accountable for:Performing routine machinery set-up, adjustments, and repairing and fitting simple replacement parts.Ensuring regular standard maintenance of the equipment, tools set-up, programming activities, and troubleshooting and reporting issues, if any; and maintaining detailed records of machinery set-ups, repairs, and maintenance activities.Keeping track of approved, defective units, and final products.

Qualifications for the role

\tReads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.\tOpens containers.\tLoads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.\tLoads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.\tConveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.\tSecures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.\tCounts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.\tAttaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.\tLoads trucks for Industrial Truck Operator.\tStacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.\tClamps sections of portable conveyor together or places conveyor sections on blocks or boxes to facilitate movement of materials or products.\tRemoves samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to laboratory for analysis.\tLifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.\tMakes simple adjustments or repairs such as realigning belts or replacing rollers.\tAssembles crates to contain products such as machines or vehicles.\tShovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals, into machine hoppers into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels.\tOperates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.Basic Required Qualifications: \tMust be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily\tHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)\tAbility to learn, understand and follow company requirements for employee safety, product quality and productivity.\tAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.\tAbility to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizations\tAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
