Operator starts by getting with the production supervisor to find out what has to be done for their shift, with that he relays it to the decoil helper to ensure that they both know what is to be done and completed for the shift. Operator gets with the helper to let them know what pallets will be needed for the order at hand. They both set up the coil that is needed and feed it into the machine, then the operator can punch in the numbers for the machine to cut the product in which the order calls for, both people have the job of pulling the sheets from the table to the pallet. Once the pallet is ready the operator writes up the cut tag to put on the pallet and the helper takes the pallet to the saw staging area. When the product must be rolled the operator will run the switches and the helper will guide the material down the table so that the roll stays straight. Once the pallet is full of rolls, they both straighten the rolls so the cuts will be straight. The last 15 minutes of the shift is for cleaning and completing the production paperwork which both people will do.
