Job Title: Operations Supervisor                                                                   June 23, 2023

POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for engaging their team and providing daily planning, guidance, and supervision to 20+ direct reports. As well as leading daily production operations and coordination activities of work teams. This role will work closely with the other Supervisors and Managers to provide resources, on-going work direction, decision making and problem solving to ensure the safe delivery of a quality product on time to the customer (internal and external). Focus on the concept of Safety Always and engage and involve hourly employees at every opportunity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, which are to be performed accurately, efficiently, within company safety and quality standards, and within required time frames as needed. Lead a team of approximately 20+ hourly associates to safely produce product and fill customer orders on time and to specification, while achieving productivity targets.Responsible for engaging their team and providing daily planning, guidance, and supervision to direct reports.Engage the workforce in continuous improvement of key business metrics. Utilize lean manufacturing tools to eliminate waste. Lead Rapid Improvement Events (Kaizen) when applicable. Write, implement, and improve standard work.Plan daily production activities in keeping with the company’s goals and objectives and align projects to meet requirements.Ensure timely planning and production of material to the end customer or upstream production needs.Oversee and review the accuracy of production in accordance with all ISO and quality standards.Ensure all operations functions are performed safely and in accordance with established EHS procedures.Maintain and issue operations performance KPI’s.Identify and implement cost reduction measures to drive operational efficiency.Plan for the development of the staff by organizing training sessions.Provide leadership select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the business.Identify and implement cost reduction measures to drive operational efficiency.Motivate staff to make an effective and efficient team.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceStrong leadership skills, with excellent supervisory skillsMinimum of 5 years' experience within operations or warehouse management environmentsExperience in moving inbound and outbound freight and leveraging freight consolidation techniquesFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products and other shipping softwareAbility to follow Leader Standard Work, Work Instructions, SOPs, Operational Methods Sheets (OMS) and other procedures as requiredAcquire and demonstrate an understanding of basic Lean and Operational excellence conceptsMust be adaptable to change, safety conscious, and have effective communication skillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, manufacturing procedures, operations manuals, governmental regulations, and an extensive variety of information furnished in various forms (i.e., verbal, written and/or diagram form)Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, peers, customers, and production employees Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to communicate in a professional, positive, courteous manner at all times with all levels of customers, vendors, visitors and employeesAbility to effectively lead teams and individualsSelf-motivated with ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete multiple tasks within specified timeframesAbility to work independently and/or cooperatively and effectively in a team environment demonstrating excellent project management and facilitation skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity; ability to repetitively use fingers and hands to feel, handle, or squeeze; reach with hands and arms; twist/turn body; perform repetitive motionsAbility to stand, walk, and/or sit, frequently and for extended periods of timeAbility to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawlAbility to operate industrial powered equipment within manufacturer’s height and weight requirements and guidelines for operatorsAbility to frequently lift up 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 60 pounds, and rarely lift over 60 pounds.  Any lifts over 35 pounds should be done with assistance.

MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS

Obtain appropriate LCN Powered Industrial Vehicle licenses, including license to operate a forkliftAbility to use two hand palm buttonsAbility to use pneumatic toolsAbility to use testing equipment
