**Job Title: 1st Shift Mig Welder**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a 1st Shift Mig Welder to support our production staff. The ideal candidate will use manual welding skills to manufacture weldments to defined specifications, workmanship standards, and production schedules.
**Responsibilities**
+ Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs
+ Arrange parts for welding and staging processes
+ Perform quality inspection and checks per quality documentation/control plan, including documentation of results
+ Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Lead
+ Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures
+ Uphold site efficiency standards
+ Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for safety and quality standards and procedures
+ Perform other duties as requested by the Lead
+ Assist in other work areas as assigned
**Essential Skills**
+ Basic understanding of welding symbols, print tolerances, and quality measuring equipment
+ Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
+ Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma
+ Passing AWS certifications for MIG welding steel and aluminum (preferred but not required)
+ Experience with g-code editing and/or working with presses

**Work Environment**
This role is based in a very clean facility that manufactures parts for a variety of industries. The shop is climate-controlled, ensuring a comfortable working environment. Employees are frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration, with occasional exposure to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud. Physical demands include standing, sitting, using hands and fingers, handling or feeling, talking or hearing, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $45000.00/yr.
