Job Title: 1st Shift Mig Welder

Job Description

We are seeking a 1st Shift Mig Welder to support our production staff. The ideal candidate will use manual welding skills to manufacture weldments to defined specifications, workmanship standards, and production schedules.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobsArrange parts for welding and staging processesPerform quality inspection and checks per quality documentation/control plan, including documentation of resultsDetect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the LeadMaintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety proceduresUphold site efficiency standardsLearn and demonstrate continuous improvement for safety and quality standards and proceduresPerform other duties as requested by the LeadAssist in other work areas as assignedEssential SkillsBasic understanding of welding symbols, print tolerances, and quality measuring equipmentAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondenceAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to read and interpret prints and work ordersAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructionsAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School DiplomaPassing AWS certifications for MIG welding steel and aluminum (preferred but not required)Experience with g-code editing and/or working with pressesWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

This role is based in a very clean facility that manufactures parts for a variety of industries. The shop is climate-controlled, ensuring a comfortable working environment. Employees are frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration, with occasional exposure to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud. Physical demands include standing, sitting, using hands and fingers, handling or feeling, talking or hearing, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This is a Permanent position based out of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $45000.00/yr.
