1st shift Optics Fabrication Technician
**Job Title: Optics Fabrication Technician (Temp to Hire) - 1st and 2nd Shift** **Location:** Boulder, CO **Rate: $21-25/hour** **Position Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production or Optics Fabrication Technician to join our manufacturing team. The primary responsibility of this role is to fabricate optical components that meet precise customer specifications. This position involves a variety of optical fabrication processes, including but not limited to beveling, milling, blocking, grinding, polishing, curve generation, and inspection/measurement. The technician will report directly to the Production Supervisor or Production Manager. **Key Responsibilities:** + **Optical Fabrication:** Execute various optical fabrication processes, ensuring all components meet customer specifications from initial print to finished product. + **Process Management:** Establish and monitor Baume and pH levels to ensure optimal fabrication conditions. + **Advanced Skills in Blocking:** Perform alignment blocking with a high level of precision. + **Polishing Expertise:** Execute polishing of single test plates and maintain wedge control to achieve high-quality finishes. + **Process Improvement:** Understand the integrated effects of different fabrication steps, identify impacts, and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and quality. + **Training and Leadership:** Mentor and train lower-level technicians, providing guidance and support. Potentially take on a lead role for specific departmental projects. + **Additional Duties:** Perform other related tasks as assigned by management. **Qualifications:** + **Education:** High School Diploma or GED is required; further education in optics or a related field is preferred. + **Experience:** A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing is preferred. + **Teamwork Skills:** Ability to work effectively within a team and across departments.
