This position reports to

Production Supervisor

Your role and responsibilities

Assists production supervisors in allocating, coordinating and overseeing shift order and work plan execution within production lines during shifts.Provides regular feedback and makes recommendations to management regarding issues within the production line. Including production line organization, shifting priorities and possible critical situations.Ensures that operators have materials necessary to complete tasks.Assists in training and cross-training of team members.Helps management implement staff movements in case of vacations, illnesses, machine outages or shifting priorities. This includes backfilling for team members (must be able to perform all positions in department).Serves as leader for shift and works to establish a collaborative environment and resolution of technical/quality problems and logistics issues.Reinforces focus on volume, efficiency and on time delivery. Facilitate small group meetings and activities as necessary for training, communication, problem-solving, etc. Conduct training and cross-training for all new and existing team members using resources such as Job Instruction, Job Safety Analysis and Standard Operating Procedures.Use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join aluminum rails to make Aluminum cable tray product. Plan work from drawings or specifications or use their knowledge of fluxes and base metals to analyze the parts to be joined. Must be able to read blue prints and determine what needs producing from them.Ensures the shift operation is run in compliance with health & safety policies and guidelines. Initiate and work on continuous improvement projects such as 5S, SITC, and JDI Maintains pre-determined efficiency, standards and productivity rates.Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains lean 5S.Communicates respectfully with all team members.Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs.This is a Monday-Thursday 10 hour shifts, with overtime depending on customer demands.

Qualifications for the role

High School Diploma or GED5 years experience in the manufacturing environment.One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must be able to use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join aluminum rails to make Aluminum cable tray product. Good Communication SkillsGood Math Skills, able to conduct general math equations to determine proper radius lengths. Leadership skills including the ability to effectively influenceBasic business acumenBasic problem solving skillsAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Safety and Quality focused Can work overtime to meet business objectivesCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
