1st Shift Welder

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our family-owned custom weld shop. This position involves working independently on a variety of projects, ranging from large structural work to one-off parts for local farmers. The primary focus will be on MIG and Flux welding, primarily dealing with steel that varies from 1/4\" up to several inches thick. Occasionally, you may work with other materials and perform TIG welding, but 90% of the work will involve steel.

ResponsibilitiesWork independently on a variety of welding projects.Utilize blueprints and weld symbols to complete tasks.Perform MIG and Flux welding, primarily on steel materials.Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.Grind and fit materials as required.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Essential Skills5+ years of custom welding experience utilizing MIG and Flux.Proficiency in reading blueprints and weld symbols.Experience with MIG and Flux core welding.Ability to grind and fit materials.Experience with TIG welding is a plus.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to work independently.Strong attention to detail.Good communication skills.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is a family-owned custom job shop with three locations within Fond du Lac. The facilities include a custom shop with offices, a structural weld shop, and a small powder coat paint shop. The shop is older and relatively dirty, with some big 'old school' personalities. The position is for the 1st shift, Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 4 pm, generally working 45-50 hours a week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
