ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Physician Mgt and Underwriting: -
Track all employed/insured Physicians & MidwivesDiscuss to resolve any MCARE reporting issues.Underwriting process- obtain CV which may include various sources, email application and authorization form to release claims information and track for response.Review application and CV to determine the required 10-year loss needs.Request required loss runs.Review underwriting file and approve physician for medical malpractice insurance and acceptance into the Master Insurance Program. If necessary, submit to Trinity Health (TH) for temporary approval or acceptance into the Master Insurance program.Sumit form to TH to generate Certificate of Insurance (COI)Add/delete physician/midwife from the policy using MCARE as guidelines.Notify TH add/delete physician from policy using MCARE as guideline. Update and maintain computer spreadsheet assigning for THMA and update computer spreadsheet assigning Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)/actuary codes and calculate FTE. Forward COI (Pennsylvania) or COI w/letter (Delaware) confirming coverage to credentialing departments.Request COIs for Mid-levels and distribute COI w/letter (Pennsylvania) or COI w/letter (Delaware) confirming coverage to credentialing departments/requestor.For July 1 renewals determine MCARE eligibility of residents and submit to TH. Submit deletions of residents graduating program. Confirm physician data and submit to System Office as needed.Send physician list periodically to Directors for updating.Provide med mal rates for onboarding physicians/Midwives contracts.Complete C-416 form for insured named Defendants. Provide required documents and submit to MCARE. Notify Trinity/Claims Dept. when acknowledged by MCARE. Report insured named physicians to State Board of Medicine.Provide TH with dates of insurance and notify if named physician or Midwife was a MCARE eligible resident at time of claim.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Three to five years professional experience in Risk Management Insurance Strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss technical or sensitive information with internal and external customers. Detail oriented with a high level of organizational skills and ability to manage and complete work in an efficient and thorough manner. Ability to exercise good judgment and exercise initiative. Ability to manage details, handle simultaneous projects and meet multiple deadlines. Ability to build strong, solid relationships with all key stakeholders. Consults with leadership to proactively anticipate customer needs and is creative and flexible in developing options. Flexibility with handling and prioritizing completion of multiple tasks/projects in a timely and organized manner. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team environment and provide support to multiple positions. Ability to resolve problems and complete assignments accurately and promptly.
