What You’ll Be Doing

As a member of the Global Diversified Industries (Consumer, Industrials, and Technology) team, you’ll support the continued growth of CIBC’s US Investment Banking platform. As an Analyst, you will support senior bankers with the industry coverage, strategic advisory, and deal execution required to help our clients succeed. In addition to working with the Global Diversified Group the Analyst will always gain experience collaborating with other teams across CIBC including CIBC Cleary Gull, Debt Capital Markets and Equity Capital Markets to perform day to day responsibilities.

How You’ll Succeed

Assist in developing proposals to clients and potential clients for equity and debt placements, mergers, asset divestitures or acquisitions, and other financial products and advisory servicesConduct industry research and analysis to assist in the identification and/or analysis of investment banking business opportunitiesParticipate in cross functional teams and liaising with other units of CIBC Capital Markets in executing mandates or preparing proposals for clientsOrganize presentations to potential clients, assisting in the development of presentation informationLead comparable company and transaction precedent analysesDevelop and maintain sophisticated financial modelsAssist in company due diligence investigationsDemonstrate job commitment including a willingness to work, as well as personal flexibility and adaptability in order to meet client deliverables and timelines

Who You Are

Education. You are an undergraduate degree in Business, Economics with a strong understanding of finance and accounting concepts is preferred who will be graduating in winter 2024 or spring 2025Technical skills, experience, programs. You can demonstrate previous investment banking/private equity/corporate finance experience. It is an asset if you have completed or plan to complete the Securities Industry Essentials ExamMotivated by development. You love to learn. You're passionate about growing your knowledge. At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $115,000 for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
