This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Linthicum MD.The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s S&EE's organization and will create architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets. Analysis may have many applications such as to address a business issue or provide a competitive advantage for the organization.  Requires strong statistical and data visualization skills.  The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the tools and processes around data analysis and visualization with a passion for identifying and answering questions that help us deliver the best service for our customers.Basic Qualifications: This requisition may be filled at a level 1.  Basic qualifications for a Data Scientist 1 are a bachelor’s degree.A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s,) from an accredited institutionBe majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)Exceptional analytical skills.Knowledge of best practices in data analysis.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Documenting processes and maintaining data records.Experience with common data science toolkits/languages such as python/R, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow, matplotlib, numpy, C++ or python
Preferred Qualifications: Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higherProficiency using query languages such as SQLApplied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.Experience with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence)Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a teamCompetence and confidence working under pressure on requests with short turn-around times.Excellent attention to detail applied to complex data integration and analysis projects.

Salary Range: $77,700.00 - $116,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
